Meet our nurses ...
I started working at the practice in September 1999 and since that time I have become a qualified dental nurse and the first aider for the practice. In 2008 I was fortunate enough to pass my dental radiography qualification meaning that I will be called upon on occasion to take your x-rays. During my time at Orchard House I have grown to love the friendly atmosphere that we strive to give and I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to now be enrolled on the Oral Health Educators programme that will (as long as I am lucky enough to pass my exams) lead to me becoming a fully qualified Oral Health Educator at the practice. I have lived in Headcorn since 1982 and began working here at the practice in 2007. Coming into Dental Nursing later in life has been an exciting challenge and after many hours back at school I passed my NEBDN Dental Nursing Qualification in 2009. I used to work at the practice full time but will now be seen only 3 days per week as I have a Grandson that takes up a lot of my time! I am now fully qualified and have passed my Oral Health Education course. I am looking forward to getting to see my own patients with my new skill. I think that one of the best parts of working at the practice is the friendly atmosphere and I really enjoy the way that everyone works together as a team. GDC Number: 179190
I started at Orchard House in July of 2013, being a male nurse it’s interesting for me as the job can be very technical and complex. I always enjoy a challenge and the job really intrigues me. In my spare time I’m always out and about enjoying the surrounding areas being a local or losing myself into something new that I’ve found. Doing new and interesting things motivate me. It’s more of a family than workplace. Everyone works together and a Dental Practice being in a house gives it a more chilled out feel, which is great for patients as well as me. Even I’m not a fan of the chair, being honest. GDC Number: 2608000
I started in May of 2015. I have already started working towards my Dental Nursing qualification and I am finding it very interesting. In my spare time I like to see my friends, try new things and spend time with my family, I am always doing something and can never just sit at home. If I ever find myself with nothing planned I will get together with friend or family. All the staff at Orchard House is more like one big family then work colleagues which is very welcoming, this has really helped to make me feel at home and they have accepted me into their family straight away. I am the newest addition to the team, having started at Orchard House in March 2016. I studied Dental Nursing at Kings College Hospital in London and gained my City & Guilds Diploma earlier in the year. All of the staff have made me feel really welcome in the practice, as have the patients I have met so far. I live in Sittingbourne and it is nice to be working a bit closer to home now. When I am not working I like to spend time with my family, friends and cats. I try to keep fit by swimming and going to the gym, although going up and down the stairs at the practice is enough of a workout. GDC Number: 262499
